What the “Origin Wound” Actually Is

The Origin Wound is not necessarily a dramatic trauma.

In many cases, it is:

  • emotional neglect

  • lack of attunement

  • chronic misattunement

  • conditional love

  • emotionally absent or overwhelmed caregivers

  • having to suppress needs to stay connected

The wound forms before language, before logic, before memory.

The nervous system makes a silent decision:

“I must change who I am to stay safe and connected.”

That decision becomes the template for a lifetime.

Most healing work fails because it starts too late in the story.

People try to fix:

  • fatigue

  • anxiety

  • addiction

  • illness

  • relationship patterns

  • self-sabotage

…without ever addressing the original emotional rupture that shaped the nervous system in the first place.

“Where did my system first learn that being myself was unsafe, overwhelming, or unsupported?”
